MadeBy Shops was born in Kentucky, founded by a local vendor who wanted to create something more meaningful; a platform dedicated to small, US-based businesses and handmade treasures. Our goal is simple: to celebrate the creators and the magic of handcrafted goods while steering clear of mass-produced items.
My Story
Hi, I’m the founder of MadeBy Shops, and this is how it all began. Like many of you, I was caught in the daily grind of a 9 to 5 job, dreaming of something more fulfilling. My journey started with small steps, dabbling in hobbies like scrapbooking, photography, and even stargazing. But it wasn’t until I discovered jewelry making that I found my passion. I poured my heart into crafting pieces with beads, agates, and raw diamonds, and the joy of creating something beautiful and selling it was unmatched.
Yet, I faced challenges. Back then, there weren’t many options for selling handmade items online, and the idea of craft fairs felt intimidating. As my family grew, so did I, away from my hobby that I loved so much. After a few years I decided to return to that hobby. However, I found online platforms filled with mass-produced items labeled as handmade and handcrafted, completely able to undersell the true creators. That’s when the dream of MadeBy Shops began to take shape. A space where creators could find support, community, and an audience that values their work and not face unfair competition from faux, cheap, mass-produced items.
